Tornado watch???!!!!

There's a tornado watch for NYC and NJ until 8PM. It's very windy
here, too and 90 degrees and very humid. Not a comfortable day!
Even Teddy, who usually wants to stay outside no matter what,
was ready to come inside quickly today.

Stay safe, everyone!

Oh my! Please stay safe those of you in NYC and NJ! :(
Stay safe!

We get tornado watches/warnings a lot in my area. I hate them.

A tornado came through our apt complex about 11 years ago. I was in the bathtub with the dog. It sounded like a fighter jet landing on the roof. Thankfully, no damage for me, but next door, the roof was ripped off.
Hope everyone out east is safe through the stormy weather. We had some very bad storms in Central Illinois last night - major damage in a number of small towns as well as some injuries. I also heard that Ohio and Indiana had damage and injuries as well.
My dad came over (from NYC to Jersey) and he told me about it. I was like "what?! why'd ya come all the way over here!" Stay safe everyone :)
We got really lucky only a mile away from us on 3 sides got hit. We were in Toledo a half hour before a tornado hit Lake Highschool and we just drove past that 30 minutes before.....
Then we got home and tornados all around us,really scary.. It was clear and sunny when we got home and 10 minutes later black as coal and lightening and tornados. We haven't had it like that in 13 years. We live near a river and a creek,so supposedly tornados aren't supposed to hit.
Wow. Hope it doesn't come down here. It had been real windy and scary out earlier..but it seems to be brightening up now. Hot and humid though, blahhhh.
I am scared to death of tornadoes, that's one reason we moved to Arizona. It's really hot here in the last couple of days, but it's better than 90 with humidity !
Debbie, we had tornado warnings last night that I didn't even know about! There are dog shows being held this weekend in the town next to me so I did a quick trip over there today to get some stuff from Cherrybrook and, naturally, browse around the other vendors. There were hardly any vendors there and the few there were fast and furiously packing up. I got what I needed at Cherrybrook and asked why there were so few vendors and why the rest were packing up. The Cherrybrook folks (from NJ) had to tell me about the tornado warnings in my own town!! And the vendors that were packing up this morning were trying to get out before the torrential downpours predicted for today. We did get some high winds and rain this morning but, thankfully, no tornadoes or downpours. Stay safe and keep all your little ones close by!

I watched the local news. I knew we had missed one tornado by 30 minutes, but didn't realize we missed two tornados by that much. We had stopped in Delta on the way home,I called in a pizza and picked it up on the way home, too tired to stop and eat. Good thing,we would have been driving while the tornado came through,it practically followed our path. I have chills just thinking about it.
We also took an alternate route home or we would have run into the tornado that hit Liberty Center Ohio.
I still can't believe we missed all those tornados and we were driving two of three routes 3 of the tornados hit. We were so tired we never stopped to goof off or eat like we usually do,not sure why, something just made us want to get home. We wanted to get home to our dogs,my son's dogs were sleeping in his semi truck, because he has the AC running for them.
I still can't believe it. They said it was a fluke system that spawned all these tornados in a small area.
It was so wierd since it was dark and cloudy all the way home, then the sun came out as we drove up the driveway, then it got black and stormy really quickly. We barely got the car unloaded and it came up that fast.

Yes Maggie, it sure was bad. (I'm in Illinois) I was in the basement with the dogs and my husband was outside watching for the tornado!! My son was in a convention center and watched the tornado go through the window! Egads!
