My advice, since you asked for it, is to be very careful about treats.....you really want him to get his nourishment from his puppy formulated food. But if you're using training treats (which is theONLY way I could get Pico trained!) then I recommend PupCorn. It's low fat, low protein and low calorie. It looks like a dog shaped corn puff and can be sliced easily into pea-sized pieces.
They have a web site which I can't remember but Google for PupCorn and see if it brings it up. Petsmart may be carrying it now, too.
Plus, until he has his first health screening, you also want to be careful of what he eats. They have the teensiest organs, liver, etc. and until you are sure those are functioning properly it's better to be safe. I say this because Pico's was diagnosed at 1 year w/MVD, a liver disease, and can't tolerate much protein or fat.

Peanut loves the Greenies Lil Bits. I've read many posts here about bad experiences with Greenies, but (knock on wood) he's never had anything bad happen. They are tiny little pieces, and he will do anything just for one piece. They are supposed to help with breath and clean their teeth, but the pieces are so small I don't think it does anything.
Another favorite is freeze dried liver treats. I got a huge container at Petsmart. They are already cut into cubes, but too big for a malt. So one cube can be cut up into 5 or 6 pea sized treats.

Alex doesn't get any treats at all besides cookies when I am eating some. He does not know what treats are and you cannot bribe him with them. You cannot even bribe him with cookies. He is not a big eater and there are other things that are more important to him then food.

For training I used a lot of Honey Nut Cheerios...
I also got the liver treats from Petsmart...I think they are by Authority. They are soft enough to break into smaller pieces so they last longer.
Those are Brinkley's favorite along with the grilled chicken flavor Canine Carry Outs. I also break those into smaller pieces. He will do just about anything for either of those two.

I give IzzyBella lots of different treats depending on the training and how well she does. For instance, if she pees on the pee pad on the floor (as opposed to the one in her playpen) she gets a lick of peanut butter, her favorite. I give her all natural dried liver broken in minute pieces. (about a fourth of the size of a pea) Once a week, when she marks and follows through on a new command she gets one frozen green bean. Sometimes it's a pencil thin slice of Nutro All Natural lamb and rice sticks.
I wasn't aware of the high protein snacks until cautioned about giving her too much peanut butter. Now I'm worrying all the time that I'm giving her too much fat and protein and she's only 11 weeks old.

I give Bella a hard treat when I leave the house after she gets in her crate. I used to get the Iams puppy bones and brake them into thirds but since all the Iams junk I switch to 8 in 1 One Earth Naturals Peanut Butter Treats. I brake these into 1/4 pieces and she gets 1 to 2 of these a day. Webpage for treats
When she was in puppy school and potty training, I gave her the liver pieces but I cut them into 10ths so they were tiny and just enough for her to taste.
