So we are currently in lockdown and no non essential travel... we were due to pick up our puppy next week when she is 12 weeks, well this now isn’t looking likely, we are waiting for our next announcement from the prime minister on the 13th but I can’t see him relaxing anything I would imagine he will extend lockdown a further 2-3 weeks 😢
My husband is now saying he’s not really keen on the idea of having to wait as the puppy will be 16 weeks ish if we are lucky and he feels like it’s a lot of money when we are missing out on the puppy stage 😢
I feel really torn as lockdown is tough and getting her was the light at the end of the tunnel for me but equally I do understand what he is saying.
Can anyone offer any sensible words of advice?

We had to post-pone getting Lisi twice due to Kitzi's double patella surgery. It was not a bad decision---she was between 4-5 months when we got her. She was still really, really small at that age (and has remained pretty small) so it seems like she is a perpetual puppy! I would not worry about waiting as long as it does not extend past 6 months or so. Puppys/dogs adjust! Owners not so much. :) It is a personal decision though. . . so do what is best for your family. We live in interesting times.

I got two of my girls at 6 months old and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They spend more time with their mom, and usually come puppy pad trained. I feel as though they were much more confident and better adjusted vs. my oldest who was 3 months old when I got her.
I personally think waiting is the way to go.

As long as the puppy is well socialized, it shouldn't matter. But socialization is critical!

Thank you all the breeder is a show breeder and the puppies will be well socialised with her dogs so that doesn’t concern me too much think I’m just feeling sad as was so looking forward to having her as a baby and now have no idea when we will be able to get her 😞 I’m still very keen on getting her but I guess the idea of having them from a puppy is always nice
