We adopted Millie! A bright side after my devastating loss of my precious Maltese named Baby, some of you might remember him though I haven't been here to post for a while. Last week I decided it wouldn't hurt to 'just look' at the shelters website... and there she was 'Millie' !! A neglected surrender at the shelter. She became officially ours yesterday 10-15-22!! We fostered her for one week before it became official, I didn't rest or have any peace until she was officially ours. Millie is guessed to be about 12 years old. She came into the shelter filthy, horribly matted, "extremely" long nails, had ***** goopy eyes, & has no teeth. She was shaved naked before brought her home. We have become her 3rd and last home. Millie is here to stay FOREVER for the rest of her days! Shes part of our family in our hearts already. She is a sweet affectionate girl, came potty trained, hardly barks, sleeps at night snuggled up against me in our bed, her little pink tongue sticks out some of the time because of no teeth. When she isn't sleeping, she acts like a puppy has a 'silly' streak, we call her 'Silly Milly' 💗😍😘🥰!

Congratulations!!!!! I'm sure Millie will help to heal your broken heart over the loss of Baby. Millie is so lucky to have found such a wonderful home where she will be cherished and spoiled for the rest of her life.

My heart will always ache for Baby, it's difficult to even think of him without crying. I have plenty of room in my heart for precious Millie too, it's impossible to be unhappy while having sweet Millie here with us here now 😊. With her here it's been the first time I've really smiled, laughed or felt lighthearted since we lost Baby. 6 mos. ago.

Thank you! We'll do all within our power to give her a great one! Millie for certain has given me another chance at life. I've never felt so incredibly low as I had these past 6 months since I lost Baby... Millie has made me happy to wake up every day again.

Thank you! I tell her every day 'this is Millie's house' and that she will be with us forever. I have at times I felt like I've betrayed Baby. Looking down from heaven I hope Baby can understand. My husband feels it honors Baby's memory to adopt another Maltese.

Thank You! Our sweet Millie is such a blessing to us! My late dog Baby💔 is the one in my thumbnail photo next to my name and he also had very big, round soulful eyes. He was very loving, sensitive, sweet, intelligent & intense. Our Millie 💖has sweet soulful eyes too, and she is my very loving, sweet, lighthearted, funny, goofy, dancing, silly little sprite! I'm trying to decide whether I should change my thumbnail over now to Millie's photo? But it feels somehow disrespectful to Baby's memory, I'll have to decide.

I know how much you dearly loved and adored him & always will. I only just learned of this because I've been away from SM, I noticed it next to your thumbnail. I'm sorry I didn't let you know much, much sooner.

Thank You! Yes she definitely is a feisty little spitfire! They told me she is a senior, hard to believe because she acts like a puppy! A woman who we met in the park the other day couldn't believe Millie is around 12 and she was convinced Millie must be a puppy! Millie💖 loves to 'dance', she's a bright happy soul & we are super blessed to have her! She had her first visit to our own vet Monday & our vet agreed she looks to be about 12.
