At 5:15 this morning my husband comes in and turns on the bedroom light...he tells me to "get up" - "something's wrong". He is not panicking...which was weird...but I bolted up thinking it was one of the skin kids or pets...all the while trying not to freak out.

It seems that while he was in the shower...he heard a noise...then the water pressure and the hot water was GONE! When I got up, you could hear the water running/rushing under the house!! GREAT!

Well, as I stood there, I realized...
I had taken a shower Saturday night before we went to a church dinner. On Sunday morning I got up and took a QUICK "body" shower, but did not wash my hair. We played hooky from church...I did not jump back in the shower last night, because I am a morning shower person...I just washed my face and went to bed. So, it is Monday morning...I HAD to have a shower!
Hubby had already turned the water off under the house, but he went back out in the cold rain and turned it back on...I had to take a COLD shower!!! I'm talkin..."TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY COLD!"...but it was QUICK! Just the hair and important parts!!!!
Hubby stood at the curtain laughing at me the whole time!
I was NOT finding humor in the situation AT ALL!

Anyway, had to call the plumber at 5:30 AM...bet he loved me!
But I called his cell, not his home so that I didn't wake up the family.

He is a butt anyway...unfortunately there is not much to choose from around here.
I wouldn't want his job. It is COLD and RAINY here today...and he is gonna have to be up under my house! yuck!
Then there is the COST factor! I don't EVEN want to come home and find out what that is going to be. :new_Eyecrazy:

HAPPY MONDAY MORNING TO ME!!!!!!

Well, I am home with the plumber right now.. -_- He called and needed in the house...Brinkley tried to eat him up!

He said he could hear the water, but couldn't find it...he thought it might be in a wall...
SO I FREAKED! Our house is OLD and I couldn't even think about having to tear crap out to find a busted wall pipe! :new_Eyecrazy:
So on the way home I called hubby....we determined that except for the shower works...we HAVE NO WALL PIPES!
Whew! Small freak out for nothing!

The problem is under out kitchen sink-and it is a real b*%^# to get under there!!! (I have never been...but that is what they say...
).
Hopefully it won't be TOO big of a deal once he gets to it...

Well...that ordeal is over! Whew!

Just a regular old busted pipe under the house...
AND he roto-rootered a slow drain we had...
Both together was only 140.00!!!! I was dreading the bill!!! I just KNEW it was gonna be 200+!!!
So, doing the happy dance about the bill!

I can think of MANY more things I would have RATHER done with that 140.00...BUT ya gotta have WATER! THAT is necessity! :D

Brinkley tried to eat him up!!!!
I SWEAR that dog thinks he is CUJO! :new_Eyecrazy: He had to go in his crate...and he STILL would not shut the barking up!
I finally had to bang his crate top one good time and growl "no bark!" I guess he knew I meant business....he went to his bed and pouted
! Score one for the ALPHA MOMMY!

Anyway, thanks for listening to me whine and vent this morning!
Monday is ALMOST over for me! :D

Glad everything worked out OK. Kallie is the same way when workmen come to the house. She acts just like Brinkley does... I have to do like you... crate her or put her in the kitchen (as long as that isn't where the workman is). It is so embarrassing to have her act like that...

His crate is in the kitchen...where he was working...

I've thought of that, too.... is the barking affecting the quality of the work.... I think Kallie is downright scared of the workmen and is barking to say stay away from me.... get out of here!

Glad to hear it is all fixed.  UGH!  House repairs...LOL...They are the worst.  It is like spending money on something you can't see.  I understand your dilema though.  Do you have city water or well water?  A few years back our well went dry.  So we called to have a new well dug--we were THREE WEEKS without water.  LOL It was a complete joke.  Anyway, enjoy a HOT shower tonight!

City water...if it had happened in the night, or while we were gone during the day...I can't even imagine what our WATER BILL would have been! :new_Eyecrazy: Sometimes they are nice in times like that to adjust, sometimes not...I am just glad it happened when it did...whether I had to have a cold shower or not...
It couldhave been MUCH worse!

If we had to go three weeks without water, we would have to go to a hotel! We have no family aruond or anything...that would stink!

Oh man!!  What a crappy way to start the week.  I hope everything gets repaired (at a decent cost) and that your afternoon gets better
Just typical that it had to happen on a monday morning
