Violet, is that your puppy? It is an adorable cut regardless...there is just something about a puppy that gets me every time!

thanks LM. You always come thru for me

Would I be able to keep this cut up, even when Dash is older (or will the hair texture change)?

Oh, yeah! It is a great cut for pets. Both of my girls are in puppy cuts. My suggestion (what I do) is take them to the groomers twice a year (every 6 months). It cost $40 a visit per dog. I can't afford to take them more often so I have them cut to 1/2 inch. It looks so cute as it grows out. Lexi went to the groomers in early June. Right now her hair is about 1.5inches long. It looks really cute! I will probably give her a haircut in another month because when her hair gets past 2 inches long it starts matting pretty easily.

That picture is so cute. JMM has a Puppy Cut Pictorial thread that might help as your baby gets older and you need to get his first cut. Of course you might want to leave the hair long on top for a pony tail....

You should have no trouble keeping Dash in a cut such as this.

I can see it now
I would never attempt to do it, I don't even cut my own hair myself. I'd definately have the groomer do this.
I would LOVE to see him like this when I get him *hint hint* lol

According to the ad where this picture was taken from, this is a six month old pup.

That is the most adorable picture!!!!!!!!!!! Ty is almost 6 months old and I've been loioking at him tis past week thinking he really needs to have his hair trimmed, should I try it myself or have it done.............................

I've looked at JMM's pictorial a dozen times, and thought MAYBE I COULD........

Violet's Mom, your puppy will be JUST as precious!!! When do you get your puppy?

HAHAHAH!! I decided to clip Tasker (my sheepie) this weekend, he may never speak to me again. I started out ok but it kept getting shorter and shorter and shorter (I'd make a mistake and have to cut it a bit shorter to "even it up"). He now has a buzz cut which a sheepie can get away with. Ty on the other hand would most likely run away from home if I did that to him

I'm not sure if this is a "haircut". I think the owner is just letting the hair grow out. You can try to reproduce the look or just let your furbaby's hair grow out.
