Hi everyone! Well, Kylee is still really young (6 months old) but I am seriously contemplating getting another one in the future..probably when she turns 1 or so. But the main problem that is sticking out in my head is that I feel like I would be betraying her if I got another one
. Has anyone else felt this way? I feel like she would be thinking.."mom, am i not enough?" I dont know maybe I'm a little
but any input is appreciated.

I felt like this with my skin kids...but after that second one is here..the feeling fades.
I couldn't see where I had love enough for two....ha ha...but you do. It just happens...
Good luck!

I have to admit that sometimes Peanut gives me these sad eyes and he'll walk away if I cuddle with Tic
I love them both but every once in a while I do feel like Peanut misses his place as the only dog in the house. He was just so lovey and just a cuddle butt while I was in Florida with him (Tic stayed home with family). I always set aside some special "Peanut time" everyday. Don't get me wrong, the boys love playing together and they even cuddle together in the same dog bed, but I do feel guilty that Peanut feels bad sometimes. Since Tic gets some serious motion sickness, I will take Peanut out with me as long as someone can be with Tic at home. I just try to make Peanut feel extra special especially now that he is not doing well. It's hard sometimes because it makes me feel bad, but having both of them is great. The boys get along a lot better than I imagined they would. Sorry for the ramble
I love both more than you could ever imagine, but the sad faces that Peanut makes when I play with Tic are what hurt

I totally agree with you! Lexi and Nikki get along great. I have no regrets. Every so often Lexi seems to feel a little left out and will need some special "mommy and Lexi" time.

oh boy....this is such a hard question! On one hand, adding Harley to my life has brought me so much joy (and Bella likes her when mommy's to busy to play) but on the other hand, having two can be difficult. We've had Harley for months now, and Bella and I don't get that much alone time, unless we sneak out of the house just the two of us, and then I feel guilty for leaving Harley at home. However, Harley does bring a lot of giggles to our home, and when I have to leave the house, I'm sure Bella is glad to have Harley there and they play a lot. Sometimes, I wonder if its Bella that misses being the only dog, or if I'm the problem, Bella is a cuddler, I'm a cuddler, and Harley is more like a jumping monkey
Anyway, I'm sure every situation is different, and I love both dogs sooo much
I wish I could help, but I don't know what to tell you. Personally, I'll be glad when my brother gets home and can bond with Harley more (she's actually his, long story) so I can spend lots and lots of time with Bella. I'm sure Bellas happy, but I miss our one on one time

Maya does that too. She gives me the "no body loves me look" if Im giving attention to Daezie or Luna and walk away to hide far way from us.

Once you have more than one is hard to give attention to one but you find ways to make up for the time. LIke othes said here, seak out. I do that If i'm running an errand I'll take one, then the next time I'll take the other one and so on. or when is time to brush their teeth is time that I use to bond with them, also when is bed time I rub their tummy massage their body.

I think in my case getting Maya was the right choice. Daezie has a little sister that she loves and play with they way she wont play with me, the chase eachother, wrestle eachother, pull eachother tails and ears, bite eachother legs. I love seeing them have a good time.
I dont think you will feel bad if you bring her a brother or sister.

I had a few moments of regret right after I got Pixie. Tuffy would look at me as if to say, "She's not going back to wherever she came from is she?" I think he got over the feeling that I had betrayed him a lot faster than I did. The turning point where I stopped feeling so guilty was one morning I had seperated them so they could eat their lunch and after about 20 minutes Tuffy started crying and crying and I couldn't figure out what was the matter. I thought he just wanted attention from me so I tried to cuddle him and play with him but he kept whimpering and running over to where Pixie was.. that's when I realized he was crying because he wanted me to let her out! As soon as I let her out he immediately ran to her with a tug toy so they could play. Of course, it really helps when your 1st dog gets along with the 2nd dog.. I'm lucky because Pixie and Tuffy are great together and really do love each other. I tried really hard to get a 2nd dog who had a personality that would compliment Tuffy's personality and I really think that's why they are a good match together.

sprite had major issues with ellie and tried attacking her several times. she didnt get along with ellie till we got gruffi---which was 6 months later.
deep down...i knew sprite didnt really like dogs. so it really depends on how your dog feels.

No regrets here. Jolie was nearly 10 when we got Sadie and she was a bit irked for a while. With my human kids I can remember thinking that I might not want a 2nd baby because we were so focused on MK. In the long run I think it is good for all concerned when a 2nd child or a 2nd puppy comes a long. There is plenty of love to go around. My doggie girls wait patiently for their turn with Mommy. They all know that they are loved.

Mine just doesn't like each other. Noriko would, playingly(I think), jump at Cloud biting him and they start a fight. They don't cuddle with each other at all. Actually, I caught them cuddling only ONE TIME EVER! Thank goodness I was able to take a couple of pictures. hehe. But Like Dr. Cathy said, it really depends on your baby. Some are meant to be loners and some arent. I bring Cloud with me to school and he doesnt seem sad at all when we're here without Daddy and Noriko. In fact, he seems a lil TOO happy. Maybe because he has my undivided attention. LOL

I got Rosita when Chiqui was 5 months old. I talked to a dog behaviorist and she told me that just like human kids they need to have quality individual time with Momy. She said that they need to feel special. So that is what I try to do.
Getting the second baby was the best decision that I have ever made. I remember the drama of leaving Chiqui at home by himself. I used to cry!! now when I leave and I see them playing together, teasing each other I just know I made the right decision!
Good luck!!
