Who's dog is it really?

I just thought It would be interesting to see whos dogs everyones maltese really is.

Is your malt really your dog or do they have another fav family member?

Prissy is for sure my dog. She is attached to my hip and I love it. :D However, when our friends come over she will dart straight to the men. For example she Loves my step dad as well as my male friends.

Shiner who is supposed to me John's dog (my bf) is really a mommas boy at heart. SHHH
dont tell dad. Shiner loves daddy but mom was the trainer and the one to dish out the punishment as well as the love. I think Shiner has truely bonded with me on a different level. If something happens between john and I it is his dog but I will truely miss him.

Sylphide is Mommy's girl. I am the love of her life (but she loves her daddy and big brother, too).

Shrek is just like my husband in nature, and he has become Daddy's boy.

We jokingly say that Sylphide takes after me and Shrek after him. It's amazing how close their personalities are to ours.

It's so funny: Sylphide gets up immediately with me in the morning (I'm always first up on weekdays). Shrek, however, cuddles up to his Daddy and won't get up until my husband does.

At night, Sylphide sleeps on my side of the bed, Shrek on my husband's side.

We didn't plan it this way, it's just the way things worked out.

For the first year of his life Miko lived with me only and I was convinced he was "my" dog. However, after living with me and my husband during last year, Miko is completely attached to his daddy. He still loves me and is definitely sad without me, but my husband is like his favorite toy. And its funny because my husband treats Miko like a toy, and Miko just loves it
. I really hope that this won't happen when we have kids (playing favorites).

Angus is definitely mommy's boy (and I wouldn't want it any other way).
He loves my hubbie, but if he has to choose, he chooses to be with his mommy.
When he first came home, I spent every waking moment with him...I fed him and cuddled him and took him to potty. His daddy is more active now with him (mostly because he sees how attached Angus is to me I think
) but Angus's mind is already made up.

My two are Rescues. I searched for them. I paid for them. I groom them. I do most of the discipline.

And they are totally Daddy's dogs.
Go figure.

When we picked them up the first day, I had to sign paperwork while my husband sat in the car with them and bonded. I truly believe that at that moment, they decided HE was their Alpha dad. Of course he had treats waiting for them too!

Not that they don't love me. They do! they give me lots of cuddles and love. But, if he comes in........I'm history!!!!

Massimo's a total Mama's boy. He follows me everywhere (even to the bathroom). He likes my husband......well, sometimes anyway.... Massimo will allow him to pick him up once in a while- like when he first comes home because Massimo's happy to see him....but most of the time he's on me. Massimo is NOT a mean dog, he's a total love bug, but if he feels hubby gets too close he'll warn him with a growl. Hubby works 3rd shift, so 5 days a week Mass sleeps in my bed with me alone. On hubby's nights off, Mass gets a little testy....if he feels hubby rolls too close to me he'll growl. Or when I'm cooking or something and he comes up behind me and hugs me, or gives me a kiss, Massimo barks at him. I think it's cute, hubby does not.

Otherwise, If I move, Massimo jumps to see where I'm off to, and follows. I can't be in another room, because it's out of his sight.
I really can't say he's mine....because I'm HIS.

Caesar is a big time Mommy's boy. :D Hubby said that on the way down here during the move, he just whined/cried like crazy because I wasn't in the truck with them (I had the 2 cats in my car). He also can not be very far away from me at all

Chloe is mama's girl. She loves to play with my husband and she adores our housekeeper - but I'm the one she comes to for cuddles, sleeping
, or whenever she's scared or gotten hurt

If my husband happens to tell her "no" she'll come running to me to "tell on him"

I do all her grooming, training, feeding etc. so she's definately my dog. :D

Lexi is a total Mamma's girl. She will let a few people hold her but if I'm around no way.
Brinkley is definetely MY baby!
Hubby tried to say before he came home to us that he would like him better...the other dogs always did...
But I kept insisting that he was MY dog!

I think he bonded with me on the long ride home. He slept in my lap and snuggled at my neck. Hubby would try to hold him and he would wiggle and worm his way back to me.

But not Brink...he loves my husband and the kids, don't get me wrong...daddy is fun to play with and he gets excited when he comes home...but when both of us walk through the door at the same time...daddy is by-passed and he goes STRAIGHT to momma...

PS- I like it this way too!

Peanut is definately MINE
He is the most loyal dog! I love it. When I'm not feeling well, he will curl up near me and just hang out all day. As I type this he is sitting under my chair
. He follows me everywhere and he takes commands from everyone, but with me he does what I say immediately. I keep an ottoman type of thingy next to my bed for Peanut to get up and down from the bed and he checks on my while I'm sleeping. The cutest thing is that he will not play with a noisy toy until I wake up. The second I get out of bed he runs for his toys and starts sqeaking all of them. I don't know maybe he's celebrating that I finally got out of bed? Peanut is awesome and I love him more than I can describe, and I was never a dog person...go figure, now my boys rule my life!

Tic is a goof ball. He is such an attention hog and he will take attention from whoever is around. He loves all of us equally I think. No one here gets any special attention from Tic. I think if I have to pick someone Tic is Peanut's dog. He is Peanut's shadow. Tic would be happy in a room full of strangers, he so much more socialized than Peanut. The only thing is that both boys sleep in my room. Maybe it's because Peanut has to sleep near me, and Tic has to sleep near Peanut though
I love both my boys!

Puddles is a Mommy's boy.

He will sit with his dad if I am busy, but let me walk by and he's on my heels. He's my only baby and a spoiled one.

We were at a park several months ago. I had to go potty so hubby was holding the leash. Well, Puddles didn't like it at all that I was walking away. He started barking to the top of his lungs. I never looked back cause I knew hubby would be kinda mad he was acting this way. When I returned Puddles was covered with pine needles and at the end of his leash. Hubby said he cried, screamed, barked and rolled in the pine needles, just plain showed his butt.
Well, that's myboy

Nothing any better than to walk in the door and have such a sweet boy waiting for me. He's busting with joy that I"m home.

Hubby is some time jealous, but he would never admit it

Sunny is mine, all mine. My mom has very little to do with Sunny other than feeding him stuff he shoudlnt eat (yet I am the one who has been cleaning the runny poop off his butt for the past 3 days). He is totally my baby but it would be nice if I could leave him with someone without him freaking out. Also he tends to get a little protective of me when he meets someone new.
I may be in the minority here but Sampson and Maggie are both "daddy's", I guess part of it is I am an animal person, always been around them, Kim didnt have pets growing up, some people just have that "connection" no matter how hard someone else may try

It may be a guy thing though. I think that Miko definitely listens to my husband more (maybe deeper voice?) and my husband also plays rough with him. I think Miko is just all boy and needs the male connection he is not getting from me
. This doesn't explain why Maggie is daddy's girl though!!

I think that is why Brink prefers to play with hubby. He plays rougher and seems to have more fun with him...
I am yelling "Be Careful" the whole time!
